Reintegration of the Crimean media space after deoccupation: challenges, risks, perspectives (expert report)

The article provides information on the section of the project «Formation of a comprehensive vision and recommendations to the authorities of Ukraine for overcoming the consequences of occupation and challenges in the process of reintegrating the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol into the information sphere», dedicated to the information and media environment of Crimea.
Description of the vision of the future model of Crimea’s reintegration is presented, risks and threats are assessed, and the variability of possible scenarios for events is considered.
Detailed description of the stages of capturing the information sphere of the peninsula since 2014, the forced reformatting of the media landscape, as well as the ideological and organizational consequences of occupation, is provided.
The recommendation section focuses on post-occupation measures of state authorities in the field of information policy, the Crimea issue as part of international politics, and coverage of deoccupation in international media.
Information is provided on the implementation of means to overcome the consequences of hybrid information challenges and measures in the publishing industry. Proposals are outlined for legislative support for the implementation of information policy on the reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Necessary steps are suggested for holding accountable for collaborationist, anti-state activities in the information sphere during the period of occupation.
