The peculiarities of advertising development in the newspaper «Svoboda» at the turn of the century (1893—1923)

Abstract: The paper explored the various types of advertisements in the Ukrainianlanguage newspaper «Svoboda» (Jersey City, Shamokin, Mount Carmel, Olyphan, Scranton, New York) during 1893—1923. Thematic-typological analysis was carried out and the specifics of  dvertisements has been characterized. The advertisements are interpreted in a cultural context as a consolidating factor in the life of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States.
