The contribution of the Ukrainian scientific community to the development of all-Ukrainian library science, bibliography and book printing through the prism of the participation of Ukrainians in the world library and book forum in Prague in 1926 has been examined. Publications in the Ukrainian general and professional press (“Dilo”, “Bibliolohichni visti”, “Knyholiub”, “Lite­raturno-naukovyi vistnyk”) played an important role in informing the scientific community about the work of the Congress and the participation of Uk­rainian representatives. Regular reports on the work of the six sections of the International Congress, sent to the newspaper “Dilo” by bibliographer I. Ka­lynovych and Head of “Prosvita” Society in Lviv M. Halushchynskyi, has been analyzed. Reviews about Congress activities were published by L. Bykovskyi, S. Siropolko and Ya. Steshenko in the press. Congress delegates Stepan Si­ropolko and Yurii Tyshchenko (Siryi) provided significant factual information in letters to I. Kalynovych. The Prague forum original documents in the personal papers of I. Kalynovych are useful for researchers. The members of the Ukrainian delegation were identified and their reports were described. The place and cir­cumstances of photographing a group of Ukrainian parti­cipants in the Congress have been established, one of these pictures was published by S. Narizhnyi in his book (1942). Three publications of the International Congress materials, prepared by its Organizing committee, – “Minutes of Meetings” (1929. Vol. I), “Reports and Memoirs” (1928. Vol. II), and “Catalogue of the Book Exhibitions” (1926) – have been described for public review for the first time. The role of Ukrainian delegates in founding the Ukrainian Society of Book Adherents, the idea of which was formulated at the Congress, is highlighted.
