Functional characteristics of author’s intentions in a publicistic text

Abstract: The author’s claim to the right to be called a publicist-researcher have been analyzed. The characteristics of realization of author’s intentions have been determined: reprezentation of a separate fact as a unity of documentary, statistical, visual images and factual message. It has been elucidated that the principle of documentalism is combined with the author’s intentions in comprehending the facts, and the publicistic generalization of the perceived facts is transmitted in the form of author’s  judgments, generalizations, and conclusions.
Keywords: author, author’s intentions, publicistic text, travelogue.
